Canadian Ambassador To Costa Rica Says Good Bye
It been almost three years and it is now time to go home, as Canadian ambassador to Costa Rica, Neil Reeder, will be leaving Costa Rica in the coming days, making way for a new ambassador.
Reeder was appointed in October 2007 to become Canada’s ambassador to Costa Rica, with concurrent accreditation to Nicaragua and Honduras.
Reeder joined the Department of External Affairs in 1982 and served in Rabat, Washington, Hong Kong and Mexico City before coming to San José. He was also High Commissioner in Brunei Darussalam from 1999 to 2002. In Ottawa, he undertook assignments in the East Asia, the Francophone Africa, and the Caribbean and Central America Relations divisions. He also served as Director of the Media Relations Office. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Reeder was a foreign policy analyst in the Foreign and Defence Policy Secretariat in the Privy Council Office. Since 2005, he has served as Director General, Communications (Foreign Policy), with Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada.
